Women In Trucking names Dupré Logistics as a top company for women working in transportation

Lafayette, Louisiana. Dupré Logistics has been named a finalist for the 2019 “Top Company for Women to Work For in Transportation” award from Women In Trucking (WIT) Association. WIT recognized Dupré for this honor Oct. 1 at the Top Company Reception at the Accelerate! Conference in Dallas.

“We are proud of the women who work at Dupré Logistics. They are an integral part of our workforce, our vision and our future,” said Mike Weindel, president of Dupré Logistics. “We join ‘Women in Trucking’ in encouraging the employment of women in the industry, promoting their accomplishments and minimizing the obstacles they face working in the world of trucking. We are honored to be included among the finalists for ‘Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation.”

WIT recognized Dupré Logistics for having characteristics that make it deserving of this prestigious award, including corporate cultures that foster gender diversity, competitive compensation and benefits, flexible hours and work requirements, professional development opportunities and career advancement opportunities.

“The recognition from Women In Trucking is important as it highlights the advancement of women in the field of transportation and promotes a spirit of community, inclusiveness and mutual support across all organizational initiatives,” said Liz Giddings, Regional Operations Director of Strategic Capacity Services for Dupré Logistics in Jacksonville, Fla.

“Dupré Logistics provides great working conditions for women,” Giddings said. “I have personally benefited from Dupré’s policies, as a mother of ten-month-old twins. Through all levels of the organization from the top down, I have had nothing but support and respect.”

Dupré Logistics is one of 82 transportation companies to make the final cut for the Women In Trucking award. More than 150 nominations were submitted to the Redefining the Road editorial staff, with more than 10,000 votes cast to identify top companies named to the list. The companies include motor carriers, third-party logistics companies and original equipment manufacturers.
